the scenes to try to keep the conflict between israel and hamas from escalating. rockets and missiles are flying back and forth between gaza and israel with multiple deaths on both sides now. and right now there's fear this could become an all-out ground war. our senior international correspondent sara sidner is in gaza city for us right now. sara, what is the very latest on this extremely tense situation? >> reporter: we have just heard moments ago, wolf, another air strike, a huge boom and then a black plume of smoke. you can actually see that with your eyes even though it is very dark here now. as we're getting information in just right now from that latest air strike, we are hearing that there are several people who have been killed. perhaps several children. we're still looking into that right now. this is just one in a series of air strikes today that have been a barrage of blasts all day long followed by huge plumes of black smoke. but we have also seen dozens upon dozens of rockets leaving this area and areas all along the gaza strip into israel. i want to let you hear that. . there are civil laws, which by the way apply only to the nation of israel. those are called civil laws. there are ceremonial laws which are the laws that apply to cleanliness as kosher jews would practice today, in the laws of leviticus, the priestly laws, ceremonial laws involve worship, then there are moral laws. as a christian, i'm not bound by the civil laws given to the nation of israel, and i'm not even bound by the cerenial laws given to the priesthood of israel. i am bound, i believe, to the moral laws. the ten commandments are neither civil laws nor ceremonial. those are moral laws. they were the ones chiselled in stone. so when people -- it's a very common argument. yeah, but what about this law and what about this law. well, granted, that was that law for that point in time, and i'm under no obligation to do that. but when a law says for instance you will always tell the truth, you may not lie, sorry, that doesn't matter how times change. >> here's my confusion about you. because you have been with your wife kay, extremely generous in tackling things like aids. you have give

that israel. i think that is true. studs terkel said americans get up and go to work every day is much for daily meaning as for daily bread. he could have easily added daily identity. so it's no surprise that many people are looking for a new amalgam around work in the stage of life. they need income to be sure but they are also looking for daily identity for work that mean something beyond themselves. we have been calling that an encore career, work in the second half of life that is an intersection of passion, and a paycheck. already 9 million americans are engaged in careers in the second half of life. 31 million more give top priority to make in that transition that are struggling to what's next. it's essentially become a do-it-yourself process for so many people who are trying to get to this aspiration which is not only going to benefit them but i think has great potential payoff for the nation. i think it's a as a society we need to come together and develop better pathways to help people navigate their way into this stage of life. i think one place to start is with what we do fo
